Phaedra Kay Pamphilon-Green
Phaedra trained as a Reader in 1998. Whilst in Ethiopia with Christian Aid she realised full-time ministry was calling her and was Commissioned as a Church Army Evangelist in 2007. Her first post was a Hospital Chaplain, where she began a Masters in Pastoral Theology. She was ordained at Lincon Cathedral in 2014.
Phaedra is married to Antony; they have 3 children, Joshua, Harriet and Oliver. Josh is marrying Caroline in October. Harriet is married to Pete and they have a little girl called Jemima. Oliver and his fiancée Ellie both live at the Rectory.
Phaedra, who likes to be known as Phe, Antony, Ollie and Ellie are all looking forward to being part of St Mary’s and Stoke D’Abernon
Mary-Beth was ordained in 2009 and began ministry in St Andrew's, Oxshott. For eight years, she served as curate and then associate minister at St Andrew's, Oxshott, from where she did her ministerial training. She subsequently served as a vicar in Hampshire and joined St.Mary's in 2020.
Previously she worked as a lawyer in the City of London, media journalist and in various roles in Church communications, both in her native Canada and the UK.
Mary-Beth is married to Len and has a daughter and son-in-law.
Sue is one of our Church Wardens. She read History at Durham University before joining Marks and Spencer in 1983 as a Commercial Manager. She subsequently worked in Management Consultancy for 11 years before moving as a Senior Manager into the Logistic industry with DHL and then with Airline industry with IAG. Sue held various roles working in Corporate IT, Project Management, Buisiness Transformation and Change Management. She finished her career working for the Department for Work and Pensions for 2 years as a freelance consultant.
Sue and her husband Mike, who worked as a Landscape Gardener, moved to Stoke D'Abernon in 2004 where they became regular attendees at St Mary's Church. Sue is also active in the local community : as a Committee Member with the Stoke D'Abernon RA and more recently as a Trustee of Cobham Conservation and Heritage Trust. She is also a keen keep fit enthusiast who attends the gym regularly.
Sue has a step daughter, Cheska, who lives in Hersham.
Ian is one of our Church Wardens. He read Physics at Imperial College, London before joining Esso Petroleum in 1976 where he spent 36 years in a variety of commercial and logistics roles including assignment in the UK press office. He spent twenty years engaged in the management of Exxon Mobil tanker chartering and commercial operations throughout Europe.
Ian and his wife Sara moved to Cobham in 1993 with their children, Robert and Emily. Sara taught at Notre Dame Preparatory School for 18 years. Robert is married with a daughter, Laura, and is employed as a Structural Engineer in Bristol. Emily is also married and works as an Equine Veterinary Surgeon in Cheshire.
Ian enjoys most sporting and home intersts and has become more engaged in Cobham and Stoke D'Abernon community life since his retirement.
Matthew is our new Organist and Director of Music.
He graduated with a first class honours degree from the University of Bristol specializing in the organ and the harpsichord. Whilst he was at Bristol he was an Organ Scholar at St Mary Redcliffe Parish Church which prides itself on its high quality music programme. As Organ Scholar Matthew was responsible for playing for services and rehearsing and conducting the choir, in particular coaching the boys and girls choirs.
He founded the Queenes Chappell a young professional solo voice consort.
Matthew is excited to work with and help develop our choir which will be one of his focus areas.
